A bottle trap is the waste fitting fitted beneath a basin to hold a small water seal, which helps prevent drain odours from coming back up through the waste pipe. This 1¼” chrome-plated bottle trap is designed for basin installations where the plumbing is visible and a tidy decorative finish is preferred.

It is commonly used under bathroom, ensuite and cloakroom basins, especially wall-hung or open-style basins where standard plastic waste fittings would be on show.
