150mm (6") Black Japanned Cabin Hook

A cabin hook is a simple hook-and-eye fastener used to hold a door, gate or shutter in a fixed position — either open or closed — without a spring, latch or lock. You screw the hook to the door edge or face and the eye to the frame or stop, then drop the hook into the eye to secure it in place. It is a traditional fitting that takes up little space and is easy to operate.

This 150mm (6 inch) version in a black japanned finish suits gates, shed doors, garage side doors, shutters and internal doors where you need a mechanical catch that stays put until manually released. The black japanned finish gives reasonable corrosion resistance for sheltered outdoor use and suits traditional or painted ironmongery. Surface-mount fixing with screws through the base plates.
