Mortice Latch Chrome - 63mm

A tubular mortice latch in a chrome finish for internal wooden doors. A mortice latch is fitted into a rectangular or cylindrical mortice cut into the edge of the door. The spring-loaded latch bolt projects from the edge of the door and is retracted by the door handle spindle when the handle is turned, allowing the door to open.

This is the 63mm case size — the most commonly used size for standard internal doors in homes, offices and similar buildings. The 63mm measurement refers to the length of the latch case, which gives a 44mm backset (the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the spindle hole). It is suitable for use with sprung or unsprung door handles and lever sets. Supplied with a striker plate and fixing screws. Chrome finish. Five year guarantee covers the operating mechanism.
