Bean (Runner) Seeds (Scarlet Emperor)

Runner beans are one of the fastest growing plants, you can usually see them pop their heads above the soil within one to two weeks. You can measure the height of your plant and also the actual beans. You will be amazed how long they can grow!

• Sow your seeds from April to June.
• Sow your seeds individually in April into small pots on a warm, well-lit windowsill.
• Cover the seed with compost and watch for the appearance of the seedlings which should take 10-14 days.
• Grow on your young plants on a well-lit windowsill.
• Put your plants outside during the day in May to get used to the outdoors, but bring them in at bedtime.
• Plant out in a sunny place in June, using long canes to support your plants as they climb.
• You can also sow seeds directly outside from mid May. Don’t forget to water well when flowering.
• Ready to eat from July to October.
