A door saddle — also called a threshold strip or door bar — is a shaped or flat timber section fitted at the base of a door opening to bridge the gap between two flooring surfaces in adjoining rooms. It covers the junction between materials like carpet, vinyl, laminate or tiles and gives a tidy finished edge at the bottom of the door frame.

This white deal saddle is 22mm thick, 150mm wide and 1 metre long — a standard size that suits most residential interior doorways. It can be cut to width, screwed down and then painted to match the surrounding trim.
