Saw tooth picture hangers — small, flat metal strips with a serrated (toothed) edge along one side. They are nailed or screwed to the top inside edge of a picture frame's back rail, and the teeth then hook over a nail or pin driven into the wall.
Saw tooth hangers are one of the simplest and most popular methods of hanging lightweight picture frames, certificates, mirrors and small decorative items. The toothed edge allows easy side-to-side adjustment for levelling once hung.
