40mm Solid Brass Showcase Catch

A showcase catch is a small surface-mounted catch that holds a door lightly closed and releases with a gentle push. This 40mm solid brass version is a traditional fitting for cupboard doors, display cabinets, wardrobe doors and similar light-duty cabinet work where you want the door to stay shut without using a handle-operated latch or a magnetic catch.

The catch mechanism uses a spring-loaded roller or ball that seats into a keep plate on the door frame — push the door closed and it clicks into the keep, push again and it releases. Fix the catch body to the cabinet carcass and the keep to the inside face of the door. The solid brass construction gives a quality feel and is suitable for traditional, period and classic cabinet styles.
