- Sow the seed thinly direct onto finely raked, moist, warm soil where the plants are to flower, raking the seed into the top 3mm (1⁄8") of soil.
- Germination 14-21 days.
- Thin seedlings in stages to a final spacing of 10cm (4") apart, using the spare plants to fill in any spaces in the bed.
- Alternatively, sow in mid September for strong young plants that will flower the following summer.
