Owatrol Floetrol is a product that our customers love.
Have you heard of it?
You will find it in our painting and decorating department.
What is Owatrol Floetrol?
Floetrol is a liquid conditioner that is added to paint.
It is used to help aid the control of the paint when you are painting.
Owatrol Floetrol can be used with water-based emulsion and acrylic-based paint.
It can be used for interior and exterior paint.
It can even be used with coloured wood stains that are acrylic-based.
How does Floetrol help the paint?
When Owatrol Floetrol is added to paint it allows it to flow more easily.
There are many other products that are designed for this purpose i.e paint thinners or even water, but what makes Owatrol Floetrol different is that it in no way alters the quality of the paint.
With Floetrol added, the paint will keep the same flow quality in differing conditions. For example, when using it outdoors the paint will remain the same be the weather hot, cold or windy.
When painting with a roller with the added Floetrol conditioner the smoother flow of paint means less clogging and paint build up on the roller. This in turn gives a more effortless flow.
Owatrol Floetrol can even prolong the life of your painting equipment. When using a paint sprayer, the Floetrol conditioner means that the easier flow of paint can decrease the pressure inside the sprayer. This means less wear and tear of the equipment.
Pros and Cons?
With all of these benefits there must be some cons regarding adding it to paint, right?
There are only a very few reasons why you shouldn’t use Owatrol Floetrol Paint Conditioner.
The conditioner will not change the colour of the paint you are using and it will not affect the consistency of the paint. However, Owatrol Floetrol is a milky white colour so you cannot add it to clear varnishes.
Owatrol Floetrol cannot be added to oil-based paints or alkyd-based paints, but worry not, Owatrol have another product you can use for these type of paints. For oil-based and alkyd-based paints use Owatrol Oil Paint Conditioner.
Floetrol conditioner may take a slight edge off the sheen of a gloss paint. However, it will make no difference to semi-sheen or matt paint.
The real plus point for using Owatrol Floetrol is that the improved flow of the paint will do away with brush and roller marks. This will save time, energy and precious patience! It also makes for a much cleaner and professional looking finish.
So why should I use Owatrol Floetrol Paint Conditioner?
Use Owatrol Floetrol to:
- Prolong the wet state of your paint
- Improve the ease of painting
- Be kinder to your painting tools
- To do away with tiresome brush and roller marks
