Keyed Alike Blog Header

A Keyed Different lock is what most of us would recognise as a regular lock.

A Keyed Different lock is a lock that has one key that will fit it and no other.

A Keyed Alike lock is different in that one key will fit multiple keyed alike locks.

If your need for a lock is for individual security then the chances are that a standard keyed different lock is the lock for you.

If however, you have multiple locks for different things and would rather not carry a whole bunch of keys, each one for a different lock, then a keyed alike lock is the one for you.

For example, with something as simple as filing cabinets it would make a lot of sense to be able to lock each one at the end of the night but to open them all the next day with one key.

Key Different and Keyed Alike locks are both a secure form of locking but a keyed different lock would be the one to consider for security alone and a keyed alike lock would be the one to consider for convenience.
