SupaDec Decorator Plumb Bob & Line
A plumb bob is a pointed weight on a cord that, when suspended freely, hangs in a perfectly vertical line due to gravity. In decorating, it is used to mark the first drop of wallpaper or lining paper before pasting begins — ensuring the starting edge is truly vertical rather than following a wall that may have drifted out of plumb. Without a plumb reference, patterns can shift noticeably across a wall.
To use: hold the cord against the top of the wall, let the bob hang free until it stops swinging, then mark the vertical line behind the cord with a pencil or chalk. This line becomes your guide for the first strip. The SupaDec version is lightweight and compact, making it a practical addition to a decorator's kit alongside a pasting table.
