Before you start:

When using Ronseal's uPVC Paint, wait for a warm dry day, above 10°C, and not likely to rain. Cold, wet weather can stop the paint from drying properly. Make sure the area you're painting is clean, dry and free from dirt, dust & grease.
Wash the surface with warm soapy water, rinse and leave to dry throughly before painting. Then make sure the surface is smooth, any damaged areas will need repairing before painting.
Lightly sand the area to give it an even finish. Use 180-220grit sandpaper to do this.
If you're painting over previously painted uPVC and the paint is in good condition, just give it a light sand with 240grit sandpaper. If it’s flaking or cracked, you’ll need to sand it off. Use 120grit sandpaper. Remember to wear a face mask. Clean up any dust and wipe with a damp cloth.

For new uPVC you need to wait at least 12 months before painting.

You can apply our uPVC Paint directly to the surface without the need of a primer.

Application:

Give the paint a really good stir. Then paint it on with a brush or roller. Leave it to dry for 2-4 hours, then put your second coat on. If you’re painting over a dark colour you may need to put a third coat on. Your last coat will be waterproof in 1 hour.

Aftercare:

To keep your uPVC looking its best, check for imperfection every year. If you notice any cracks, blisters or scratches, sand off any loose bits and touch up the area with 2 coats of uPVC Paint.

Clean Up:

Take as much paint off your brush or roller as you can. Wash in warm soapy water.

Don’t empty leftover paint into drains or watercourses. Instead, contact your local authority, who may have particular ways to get rid of unused paint.
