Zinced Steel M5 Threaded Rod - 5 x 1000mm

A fully threaded zinc plated steel rod in M5 (5mm diameter) metric thread, 1000mm long. Threaded rod — also called studding or allthread — is a bar that is threaded along its full length, allowing it to be cut to any length and used with standard M5 nuts and washers at any point along the bar.

It is used in a wide range of applications: hanging suspended ceilings and light fittings, creating custom-length bolts and tension rods, assembling fabricated frames and structures, anchoring into masonry with a nut and plate, and general construction and engineering assembly work where a specific bolt length is not available off the shelf. Cut with a hacksaw and file the cut end to clean the thread before fitting a nut. The zinc plating gives basic corrosion resistance suitable for most indoor and sheltered applications.
