- The Freya Hybrid Greenhouse
We are excited to introduce our new greenhouse - The Vitavia Freya Hybrid.
The Freya Hybrid is a new style of greenhouse. It offers the best of both worlds.
The greenhouses we stock at Lenehans can be divided into two main categories: Attached (Lean-To) and Free-Standing. The Freya Hybrid greenhouse comes with the benefits of both lean-to and free-standing.
The Freya Hybrid was introduced to the world by Vitavia as recently as 2017 and it has now arrived with us here in Ireland.
Attached (Lean-to / Wall-mounted)
A Lean-To greenhouse is an attached greenhouse. They are greenhouses that lean to a wall, generally against a house, and use the wall of the building as one of the walls of the greenhouse.
In a lean-to greenhouse the highest part of the greenhouse is where it connects with the solid wall of the building. This wall and height offers great benefit in putting your plants here where they can grow to heights.
Free-standing
A Free-Standing greenhouse is the type of greenhouse we are all probably more familiar with. These are the greenhouses (or glass houses) that stand alone in a garden or allotment.
Typically free-standing greenhouses are build with an A-frame structure. This structure allows for you the gardener to have the height as you walk in the centre of the greenhouse and tend to your plants surrounding you.
The benefits of a free-standing greenhouse is that they can be placed anywhere, given that the ground / base is completely flat and taking into consideration necessary shelter.
Freya (Hybrid)
The Freya Hybrid greenhouse has an attractive new structure type.
The roof at its lowest point stands at 5ft 5” and it slopes upwards to the entrance of the door.
The door is a big sliding door from the front with the roof standing at 8ft 5”. This extra height means you can grow tall plants in all areas of the greenhouse.
The Freya Hybrid has the advantages of all-round height similar to the advantages of a lean-to, whilst at the same time not taking use from building walls and allowing you to place your Freya Hybrid wherever you wish. Thus giving you all the same advantages of a free-standing greenhouse.
