3 qustions - 1. Does the BBQ run on Propane gas? We have a half full 11kg canister - will that work? 2. When delivered, is the BBQ ready-to-use, or do we need to assemble it? 3. Is it possible to purchase a cover for the BBQ? Thank you. Edwin Humphreys - edwinhum46@gmail.com
Gas type – will your 11kg propane work?
Campingaz 2 Series Classic LX barbecues are designed to run on bottled LPG (propane or butane) using a suitable regulator and hose. In Ireland, they are very commonly used with standard 11kg propane cylinders.
So in practical terms: your half‑full 11kg propane canister should be fine, as long as you have:
- The correct propane regulator (Irish compatible) and hose connected safely to the BBQ, and
- No damage or leaks on the hose or fittings (do a quick soapy‑water leak test at the joints after connecting)
Assembly on delivery
The Campingaz 2 Series Classic LX is supplied flat‑packed and requires assembly. This usually involves:
- Building the trolley/stand and side shelves,
- Mounting the firebox and lid,
- Fitting the burners, flame tamers, grilles and any side burner (if included in your exact variant),
- Connecting the hose and regulator (if supplied) to your gas bottle.
Allow roughly 1–2 hours with basic tools (screwdriver, spanner) for a first‑time assembly, and always do a leak check before first use.
Is a BBQ cover available?
We don’t currently have the official Campingaz‑branded 2 Series cover showing in stock, but we do have a good universal trolley‑BBQ cover that will suit many 2‑burner carts in that size range.
